A 24-year-old South Boston man has been arrested in connection to a 2018 alleged abduction and rape, according to South Boston Police.

Richard Ellijah Jacobs of E. Bishop Drive was arrested on Saturday on Wilborn Avenue in South Boston and faces charges of burglary, forcible rape, abduction, assault and battery of a family member, petty larceny, damaging phone line to prevent call to 9-1-1 and strangling, choking another.

Police began searching for Jacobs more than two years ago after an incident that occurred Feb. 16, 2018.

At that time, police said he was armed with a knife during an incident that occurred at a residence on Sinai Road.

In an unrelated incident, Jacobs also faces charges of violating probation and selling a schedule I/II substance for profit. Those warrants also were served Saturday.

Officer D. Blanks Jr. was the arresting officer.

Jacobs is being held at Halifax County Adult Detention Center with no bond.
