The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several larcenies at places of worship throughout the county, according to Sheriff Fred S. Clark.

On Sunday, deputies responded to Seven Oaks Baptist Church on Bill Tuck Highway, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Love Shop Road and Piney Grove Baptist Church on Bethel Road for reports of larcenies from vehicles.

Deputies discovered during Sunday’s services items were taken from vehicles in the parking lots, said Clark.

The sheriff said one vehicle was left unlocked, and entry was gained into another two vehicles by breaking a glass out. Various items were taken from the vehicles.

The Halifax County Crime Line has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and convictions of the subjects responsible for the recent larcenies.

Clark asks anyone who has any information about the larcenies or who may have seen any type of suspicious activity to call the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office at 434-476-3339 or the Halifax County Crime Line at 434-476-8445.
