A 45-year-old Clarksville man faces a felony charge for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and a misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Rochell Leon Downey of Lafayette Road was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Sunday, and Deputy J.L. Franco served the warrants that same day.

• Alexander Howard Payne, 29, of Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Halifax faces a felony charge for a probation violation/capias.

The alleged offense occurred June 26, 2017, and another agency served the warrant on Friday.

• Corey Tremaine Lewis, 32, of Golden Leaf Road, Nathalie faces a felony charge for a probation violation/capias.

The alleged offense occurred June 30, 2015, and another agency served the warrant on Monday.

• Andrew Alan Dease, 30, of Union Grove Road, South Boston faces misdemeanor charges of driving on a suspended or revoked license; eluding police; possession of marijuana; and speeding.

The alleged offenses occurred Monday, and Deputy J. A. Short served the warrants that same day.

• Zachary Raymond Setliff, 33, of Cole Lane, Scottsburg faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Deputy R. L. Compton served the warrant the same day.

• Shawn Hutcherson Short, 37, of Watlington Drive, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred July 29, and South Boston Police Officer J. George served the warrant on Saturday.

No bond was set for Short.

• Christopher Lee Hammock, 36, of Clays Mill Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of DUI.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Deputy J. S. Garber served the warrant that same day.

• Shane Thomas Poole, 44, of North Railroad Street, Lenox, Georgia, faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court without a jury.

The alleged offense occurred Aug. 5, and South Boston Police Officer K. Bane served the warrant on Monday.

• Anthony Jerome Morton, 44, of Buffalo Road, Long Island, faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Aug. 2, and Corporal C. J. Yeatts served the warrant on Monday.

• A 43-year-old Nathalie woman, Terri Renee Williams, of Dr. Lacy Trail, Nathalie, faces a charge of larceny for shoplifting, according to South Boston Police Department reports.

Officer J. George served the warrant on Saturday, and Williams was held on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

• Kaneshia Kirby, 30, of Cassada Lane, South Boston faces a charge of DUI/DUID.

Officer R. McGuire served the warrant on Saturday, and Kirby was held on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

• Steven Eugene Edmonds, 53, of Powell Road, South Boston, faces a charge of being drunk in public/curse and abuse.

George served the warrant on Friday, and Edmonds was released when sober.

• Trajan Jamar Kirby, 24, of Howard Avenue, South Boston, faces a charge of capias/failure to appear.

McGuire served the warrant on Sunday, and Kirby was held on a $1,000 secured bond.

• John Antonio Taylor, 34, of Jeffress Boulevard, South Boston faces charges of a probation violation and driving on a suspended license/DUI conviction.

McGuire served the warrants on Sunday, and Taylor was held on a $2,500 secured bond.

• Ashley Kay Lewis, 30, of James D. Hagood Highway, Clover faces charges of larceny/shoplifting and trespassing.

Corporal B. Smith served the warrants on Saturday, and Lewis was released on summons.

• Kaitlyn Brooke Martin, 19, of Clover Road, Clover faces a charge of larceny for shoplifting.

Officer F. A. Powell served the warrant Saturday, and Martin was released on summons.

• Cory Anthony Brooks, 26, of Poplar Creek Street, South Boston faces a charge of trespassing.

Officer J. DeSantis served the warrant Sunday, and Brooks was released on summons.

• Daquan Antonio Wright, 26, of Poplar Creek Street, South Boston, faces a charge of trespassing.

DeSantis served the warrant on Sunday, and Wright was released on summons.

• Maurice Washington, 52, of East Bishop Drive, South Boston faces a charge of driving under the influence/driving under the influence of drugs.

McGuire served the warrant Saturday, and Washington was held on a $2,000 unsecured bond.
