A 27-year-old Danville woman faces charges of vandalism of property valued at less than $1,000 and trespassing, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Shamonica Jo-Meka Leftwich of Kemper Court was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred on Saturday, and another agency served the warrants on Tuesday.

• David Anthony Hankins, 33, of 4026 Virgie Cole Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred on Feb. 7, and deputy R.L. Compton served the warrant on Tuesday.

• Melissa Leanne Pool Newton, 45, of Huell Matthews Highway, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred on Wednesday, and deputy T.W. Bush served the warrant that same day.

• Kimberly Lee Conner, 55, of Hilltop Drive, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of truancy.

The alleged offense occurred on Feb. 13, and deputy C.D. Wilborne served the warrant on Wednesday.

• Van Pleasant Jr., 69, of 2132 North Main Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of communicating threats over the telephone, according to South Boston Police Department records.

The alleged offense occurred Feb. 21, Officer L. Perkins served the warrant on Tuesday.

Pleasant was held under a $2,500 secured bond.
