A 55-year-old Iowa man was charged after police report a gun accidentally fired Friday at Velocity Urgent Care in South Boston.
It was about 10:30 a.m. when officers with the South Boston Police Department responded to the medical center at 3601 Old Halifax Road, a news release stated.
Police determined there was an "accidental discharge of a firearm in the office," the news release said. No one was injured, but the incident caused minor damage to the building.
Authorities arrested Larry Dornell Henderson and charged him with two felonies: "knowingly carry a concealed weapon after being convicted of a felony and knowingly and intentional possess or transport a firearm after having been convicted of a felony," the news release reported.
He's also charged with a misdemeanor count of "recklessly handle a firearm so as to endanger the life, limb, or property of another."
The suspect is being held in the Halifax Adult Detention Center under a $3,500 secure bond.
