A 34-year-old Virgilina man has been charged in an October shooting that left two people with gunshot wounds.
According to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Records, 34-year-old Stacey Ray Seamster faces a felony charge each of shooting at an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and assault with intent to maim as well as a misdemeanor charge each of reckless handling of a firearm and point/brandish a firearm.
Deputy T. W. Crute served the warrants Wednesday.
Sheriff Fred S. Clark reported that it was shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 when someone called 911 about someone being shot at a home on Hogan Road in Virgilina
Officers from the sheriff’s office and the Virginia State Police responded there to find a person with a gunshot wound.
An investigation revealed a fight occurred between two people “who were familiar with each other at the Hogan Road residence,” Clark said in a news release. While two people were injured, one left the scene and was found at a home on Buckshoal Road.
Rescue personnel provided emergency aid and transported both to a medical facility for treatment.
A firearm was discovered at the scene.
