A 32-year-old Nathalie man faces multiple charges after he allegedly strangled, abducted and took a 35-year-old female from her Berry Hill Road home Sunday after 8 p.m. to an ATM at a bank, where she was forced to withdraw money, according to South Boston Police Chief Bryan Young.

Stanley Anthony Smith of Leda Road faces a felony charge each of strangulation, kidnapping/abduction without a deadly weapon, robbery and attempts and assault and battery of a family member.

“Evidence is consistent with her story,” said Young, who noted that the victim had minor injuries.

Other arrests

• Smith also faces a misdemeanor charge each of hit and run attended, driving a vehicle with faulty breaks and driving while license is revoked or suspended. These charges stem from another alleged incident that occurred April 6.

He also faces a felony charge of violating probation of a felony offense. That charge stems from an alleged incident that occurred April 23, 2020.

• Louis Acosta III, 41, of Virgilina Road, Virgilina faces a felony charge of bail/pretrial violation and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

The alleged offenses occurred Aug. 12 and Sept. 2, and another agency served the warrants Sunday.

• Damian Eugene Trent, 21, of Mountain Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

The alleged offense occurred May 27, and deputy S. T. Comer served the warrant Sunday.

• Dakota Raine Conner, 27, of Ephraim Lane, Saxe faces a felony charge of violating probation.

The alleged offense occurred April 29, and deputy J. B. Ragans served the warrant Sunday.

• Eric Eugene Black, 50, of Jimmys Trail, Nathalie faces two misdemeanor charges of violating probation.

The alleged offenses occurred Sept. 4, 2020 and Nov. 26, 2019, and deputy D. L. Clark served the warrants Saturday.

• Herman Franklin Osborne, 47, of Powell Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of public swearing/intoxication.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and deputy T. A. Leath served the warrant the same day.

• Christopher Lee Jones, 49, of Easley Hill Trial, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of public swearing/intoxication.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Comer served the warrant the same day.

• Joey Green Long, 50, of Bold Springs Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear.

The alleged offense occurred Sept. 29, and Cpl. S. Britton served the warrant Friday.

• Anita Louise Ragland, 25, of Edgewood Drive, Roxboro, North Carolina faces a misdemeanor charge of violating probation.

The alleged offense occurred July 6, and deputy J. C. Young served the warrant Friday.

• Summer Denise Eanes, 41, of Jeremy Creek Road, Sutherlin faces a misdemeanor charge of violating probation.

The alleged offense occurred Feb. 5, and another agency served the warrant Friday.

• Marlon Jared Newson, 27, of Gary, Tennessee faces a charge of felonious assault without intent to maim, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Officer S. Kenney served the warrant Monday.

• Louis Acosta III, 41, of Virgilina Road, Virgilina faces a charge each of identity theft and driving while license is revoked/suspended.

Kenney served the warrants Sunday.

• Tymaine Rashod Brown, 25, of Cardinal Court, South Boston faces a charge of intoxication.

Officer J. Rice served the warrant Sunday.
