South Boston Police are investigating a stabbing that injured a 40-year-old Chase City man Friday.

According to Detective Chris Carswell, officers from the South Boston Police Department responded at 11:54 p.m. to a residence in the 900 block of College Street for a report of a stabbing and found the Chase City man suffering from a wound to his chest.

The male was transported to the helipad and then transported to another hospital facility due to the severity of his injury, Carswell said.

At this time the male is in critical but stable condition.
