Three masked men armed with guns forced their way into a South Boston home Thursday evening demanding money, authorities report.
It was shortly after 8:10 p.m. Thursday when officers from the South Boston Police Department responded to the home invasion in the 1500 block of Ridge Street, according to a news release from Lt. Randy Redd.
“We would consider it at this point an isolated incident,” Redd stated.
Police report that three men — armed with a long gun and two handguns — “forced entry into the residence” and demanded money.
The suspects then ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash, possible leaving the scene in a white four-door car, witnesses told police.
No one was injured in the home invasion, Redd said.
The suspects, described as black men, were wearing masks and black gloves. One was heavy-set, one slender and the third described as tall, according to Redd.
The home invasion occurred less than a mile down the road from an accidental shooting that was reported just hours earlier on the 1900 block of Farragut Avenue.
“At this point in time, we have nothing that connects the two incidents,” Redd said.
