A 37-year-old Scottsburg man faces a felony charge of kidnapping and a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor as well as a pair of misdemeanor assault and battery charges, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

James Herbert Moorefield II of Clays Mill School Road was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Tuesday, and Deputy C. S. Hudson served the warrants Wednesday.

• Tyrik Tavon Harris, 26, of Wilson Memorial Trail, Vernon Hill faces a charge of felonious assault with intent to maim.

The alleged offense occurred Dec. 23, and Deputy T. M. Moore served the warrant Wednesday.

• Timothy Wayne Layne, 32, of Waltman Trail, Vernon Hill faces a misdemeanor contempt of court charge.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and another agency served the warrant Wednesday.

• Kristine Elizabeth Monette, 27, of Indian Spring Drive, Nelson faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Wednesday, and Deputy J. A. Short served the warrant Thursday.

• William Thomas Dunn Jr., 30, of E. Hyco Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Wednesday, and Deputy W. F. Cross served the warrant Thursday.

A 34-year-old Danville man faces a felony charge of assault with intent to maim, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Jawaan Ernest Barber of Bishop Avenue was charged with the alleged offense when Officer D. Blanks Jr. served the warrant on Friday.

Barber was held with no bond.

• Dinisio Augusta Martin, 39, of Halifax Road, Halifax faces a charge of larceny for shoplifting.

Cpl. A. Whitmore served the warrant Sunday, and Martin was released on summons.

• Maurice Lamont Meadows, 38, of North Main Street, South Boston faces charges of driving under the influence of alchol or drugs and refusal of a breath test.

Blanks served the warrant Saturday, and Meadows was released when sober.

• Shaquill Marquel Ford, 26, of Llewellyn Avenue, South Boston faces a concealed weapon charge.

Officer R. McGuire served the warrant Sunday, and Ford was released on summons.

• Trey DeShawn Roberts, 25, of Bold Springs Road, South Boston faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Officer A. B. Jones served the warrant Sunday, and Roberts was held on a $3,000 unsecured bond.

• Gabriel Antonio Williams, 45, of Greens Folly Road, South Boston faces a charge of being drunk in public/curse and abuse.

Officer D. Blanks Jr. served the warrant Wednesday, and Williams was held on a $1,000 unsecured bond.

• Christopher Raymond Irvin, 35, of Shepherd Street, South Boston faces charges of larceny for shoplifting and trespassing.

Officer K. Bane served the warrant Wednesday.
