A 26-year-old Halifax man is being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond following his arrest Thursday and a search of a College Street, South Boston residence.
According to Halifax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark, members of the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotics and Gang Task Force arrested Tyriq Shamont Glenn of Gatha’s Trail on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
The Virginia State Police tactical team executed the search warrant, and task force members seized firearms, ammunition, suspected cocaine, suspected marijuana and packaging materials.
The Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotic and Gang Task Force is comprised of members of the Virginia State Police, South Boston Police Department and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
The Virginia State Police and members of the South Boston Police Department assisted with the search warrant, Clark said.
