A 72-year-old South Boston man faces numerous charges after a police pursuit Tuesday evening ended with a crash on East Hyco Road, according to South Boston Police Department Lt. Randy Redd.

Aundra Rodney Faulkner of East Hyco Road faces charges of felony eluding police, driving under the influence, refusal of a breathalyzer test, two counts of reckless driving, failure to maintain control, driving with a suspended or revoked license, obstruction of justice and theft of a firearm.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Halifax County E911 center received a call of a reckless driver in the area of North Main Street in South Boston, Redd said Wednesday.

Officer B. R. McGuire spotted the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer near the intersection of Hodges Street and John Randolph Blvd driving in a reckless manner and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
