A 43-year-old Nathalie man, Jason Thomas Sizemore, faces a charge of breaking and entering into a residence following a Wednesday incident, according to Halifax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark.

Clark said the sheriff’s office received a call for a breaking and entering that occurred at a residence on L.P. Bailey Memorial Highway in Halifax.

The caller said that a suspicious individual was seen near the residence just prior to discovering the breaking and entering, according to Clark.

Halifax County deputies and investigators and members of the Virginia State Police responded to the area.

Upon arrival, Clark said it was discovered that someone had broken into the residence.

Several items inside the home were vandalized and three firearms had been taken, he added.

The sheriff said a suspect fitting the caller’s description, who was identified as Sizemore, was located a short distance from the location by a member of the Virginia State Police on Thursday.

Sizemore is currently being held in Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Halifax with no bond.

The firearms taken from the residence have been recovered and more charges are pending, Clark said.

Investigator T. A. Mocarsky is the investigation officer.
