Two individuals were arrested Wednesday and multiple suspected drugs were seized following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Stage Coach Road in Nathalie.
According to Halifax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark, the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotics and Gang Task Force arrested 32-year-old Whitney Allen Barker of Stage Coach Road, Nathalie charging him with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Also arrested was 34-year-old Stephanie Brook Smith of John Henry Brown Trail, Clover on a charge of possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony.
As a result of the search, task force members seized suspected heroin, suspected marijuana, suspected marijuana plants, suspected marijuana grow materials, suspected Schedule II controlled substances, suspected Schedule V controlled substances, suspected drug paraphernalia, electronics and firearms, Clark said.
Barker and Smith were taken to Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority where they are being held without bail.
More charges are pending on both suspects, Clark said.
Assisting members of the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotics and Gang Task Force, which consists of members of the Virginia State Police, South Boston Police Department and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, with the arrest and search were other officers from the sheriff’s office, Virginia State Police and South Boston Police Department.
