Halifax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark reported a breaking and entering at the Family Dollar in Virgilinia that occurred Thursday at approximately 3:11 a.m.

Deputies arrived within minutes of the crime occurring and saw where the suspects had broken the front door of the business to gain entry, said Clark.

Upon entry to the premises, the suspects gained access to the ATM from which Sheriff Clark said a small amount of money was taken.

The suspects on captured surveillance video were two black males driving a silver Toyota Tacoma which fled southbound into North Carolina, according to the sheriff.

Sheriff Clark asks if anyone has any information to contact deputy D. L. Clark at (434) 476-3334 or the Crimestoppers Hotline at (434) 476-8445. Tips can remain anonymous, he added.
