Two individuals face drug charges following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Watkins Avenue in South Boston, according to Halfiax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark.

Clark said Michael Blake Vaughan, 41, of Watkins Avenue, and Michelle Doss Barnett, 44, of Noblin Avenue, South Boston were arrested on Wednesday after members of the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotics and Gang Task Force executed the search warrant.

Vaughan faces charges of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a felony and possession of ammunition after having been convicted of a felony.

Barnett faces charges of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were taken to Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority and held without bail.

Task Force members seized suspected methamphetamine, suspected drug paraphernalia, U. S. currency, a firearm and ammunition as a result of the search, said Clark.

More charges are pending, the sheriff added.

Members from the South Boston Police Department, Virginia State Police and Sheriff’s Office assisted with the search and arrest.

The Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotic & Gang Task Force consists of members of the Virginia State Police, South Boston Police Department and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
