Two deceased men were found in the yard of their residence Sunday afternoon, according to Halifax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark.

Authorities with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office had responded to their residence on Bethel Road after receiving a report around 2:50 p.m. of two people lying in the yard.

“A friend had come by to check on them and saw them,” said Clark, who declined to identify the men pending notification of all family members, but did note it was a father and his adult son.

Clark said it appeared the bodies had been outside for a couple of days.

The sheriff said no foul play is expected, and their bodies have been sent to the medical examiner’s office in Roanoke.

The sheriff’s office is waiting for the full reports of the medical examiners findings.
