An individual wearing a Halloween mask robbed the Liberty Mini Mart shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to Sheriff Fred S. Clark.

He said the suspect, who appeared to be male, approached the cashier with a “long gun,” demanded cash and left with an undisclosed amount.

“No one was hurt,” the sheriff added. 

Clark said the suspect was described as being approximately 6-feet tall and appeared to be heavy set.  

Authorities with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police and Halifax Police Department responded to this incident. 

This investigation is ongoing.
