A 25-year-old Vernon Hill man faces a felony charge of firearm larceny, not from person, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Tyrell Trevon Harris of Wilson Memorial Trail was charged with the alleged offense that occurred Sunday, and deputy T. W. Crute served the warrant the same day.

• John Murphy Morris, 54, of Hitesburg Church Road, Virgilina faces a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offenses occurred Monday, and deputy T. W. Bush served the warrants the same day

• Marquel Jamar Johnson, 25, of Alder Trail, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred July 15, and deputy T. M. Moore served the warrant Monday.

• Wilma Elliott, 46, of Hitebsurg Church Road, Virgilina faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Bush served the warrant the same day.

• Hunter Harris Groves, 19, of Nelson Church Road, Nelson faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Sgt. W. G. Yancey served the warrant the same day.

• Thomas O. Thompson, 50, of Grandin Court, Danville was issued a misdemeanor surety capias and faces a misdemeanor charge of bailee violation of release/pretrial conditions.

The alleged offenses occurred June 29 and Jan. 31, and another agency served the warrant Sunday.

• Zachary Lynn Miles, 25, of Bold Springs Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear.

The alleged offense occurred Jan. 7, and another agency served the warrant Friday.
