A 37-year-old Virgilina man faces a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor assault and battery of a family member charge, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Justin Johnson Hamlett of Wolf Pit Road was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred on Saturday, and deputy T.W. Bush served the warrants on the same day.

w Lacy Raymond Epps Jr., 62, of Dougs Trail, Halifax faces a felony charge of auto larceny and misdemeanor charges of violation of a protective order and probation violation of a misdemeanor offense.

The alleged offenses occurred on July 1, June 27 and April 21, and deputy H.O. Weddle served the warrants on Sept. 25.

• Ricky Dean Elliott, 61, of Bill Tuck Highway, South Boston faces two misdemeanor charges of point/brandishing firearm and assault and battery of family member.

The alleged offenses occurred on Sunday, and deputy W.G. Yancey served the warrants Monday.

• Andra Lloyd Ervin, 54, of North Main Street, Clover, faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred on Monday, and deputy C.D. Wilborne served the warrant the same day.

• Jaavoda Tromel Davis, of North Main Street, Clover faces a misdemeanor charge of public swearing/intoxication.

The alleged offense occurred on Monday, and Wilborne served the warrant the same day.

• Kevin Ryan Curtis, 27, of Bull Creek Road, Nathalie faces two misdemeanor charges of assault and battery and public swearing/intoxication.

The alleged offenses occurred on Saturday, and Sgt. J.P. Adams served the warrants on Sunday.

• Tiffany Ann Conner, 39, of Coles Ferry Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of driving while license revoked/suspended.

The alleged offense occurred on Sept. 20, and deputy T.M. Moore served the warrant on Friday.

• Branden Bernard Chavis, 32, of Hope Valley Lane Greensboro, North Carolina, faces a misdemeanor charge of probation violation of a misdemeanor offense.

The alleged offense occurred on Oct. 20, 2019, and an officer with another agency served the warrant on Sunday.

• Lacy Edward Bowen, 83, of Alphonse Dairy Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of destruction of property/monument.

The alleged offense occurred on Sept. 1, and Cpt. D.H. Barksdale served the warrant on Sept. 25.

• Shane Adam Cole, 30, of Huell Matthews Highway, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny less than $1,000 from person.

The alleged offense occurred on Aug. 19, and deputy T.H. Clarke served the warrant on Monday.

• James David Stricker Jr., 59, of Bowling Green, Front Royal faces a felony charge of grand larceny and a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny of less than $500, not from a person.

The alleged offenses on June 19, 2019, and another agency served the warrants on Tuesday.

• Jason Nathaniel Vernon, 40, of Mt. Carmel Road, Alton faces misdemeanor charges of obstruction/resist: threat/force, defeat drug and alcohol screening and probation violation of a misdemeanor offense.

The alleged offense of probation violation occurred on Jan. 14, and the other two offenses occurred on Thursday.

Deputy J.S. Garber served the warrants on Thursday.

• Ricky Thomas Hudson Jr., 44, of North Main Street, South Boston faces one misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred on May 22, and deputy T.W. Crute served the warrant on Tuesday.

• April Shantae Callands, 38, of L.P. Bailey Memorial Highway, Halifax faces one misdemeanor charge of destruction of property with intent, less than $1,000.

The alleged offense occurred on Aug. 25, and deputy J.L. Franco served the warrants on Tuesday.

• Shadiere Devon Oatis, 22, of Jeffress Boulevard, South Boston faces two misdemeanor charges of bailee violation of release/pre trial conditions and surety capias.

The alleged offense for the violation of pre trial conditions occurred on July 21 and the surety capias on Sept. 2.

Garber served the warrants on Sept. 29.

• Steven Deon Logan, 31, of Wilson Memorial Trail, Vernon Hill faces a misdemeanor charge of receiving or buying stolen goods less that $1,000.

The alleged offense occurred on Sept. 15, and deputy T.W. Bush served the warrant Wednesday.

• Tyrell Trevon Harris, 25, of Wilson Memorial Trail, Vernon Hill faces a misdemeanor charge of receiving or buying stolen goods less than $1,000.

The alleged offense occurred on Sept. 15, and Bush served the warrant on Wednesday.

• Corey Latroy Crawley, 41, of Guill Town Road in Scottsburg faces a misdemeanor charge of violation of a protective order.

The alleged offense occurred on Oct.1, 2020, and deputy W.F. Cross served the warrant the same day.

• Donnie Wesley Miller, 63, of Golden Leaf Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of making annoying phone calls.

The alleged offense occurred on Tuesday, and deputy G.L. Jones served the warrant the same day.

• Kevin Eugene Lloyd, 45, of Pine Lane, South Boston faces two misdemeanor charges of assault and battery of a family member, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Officer D. Blanks Jr. served the warrants on Saturday, and Lloyd was held on a $4,000 secured bond.

• Charles Edward Watkins, 21, of Shiloh Church Road, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.

Officer D. Blanks Jr. served the warrant on Sunday, and Watkins was released on a $3,000 unsecured bond.

• Merle Travis Rutledge Jr., 39, of Pine Street, Chatham faces a misdemeanor charge of slander and libel.

Officer L. Perkins served the warrant on Saturday.
