A 74-year-old Scottsburg man faces a charge of felonious assault with intent to maim, a felony charge of being a convicted felon with a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of trespassing to threaten, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

John Earl Wooden of Bagwell Drive was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Tuesday, and Cpl. S. Britton served the warrants the same day.

• Anthony Taft Vaden, 43, of Shiloh Church Road, Nathalie faces a felony probation violation charge.

The alleged offense occurred Nov. 10, 2014, and another agency issued the capias Tuesday.

• Patrick Elliott Scarbrough, 38, of Parker Avenue, South Boston faces felony drug charges of possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance and marijuana distribution.

The alleged offenses occurred April 30, 2018, and another agency served the warrant Wednesday.

• Justin Cain Hamlett, 23, of Volens Road, Nathalie faces a felony probation violation charge.

The alleged offense occurred Dec. 27, 2016, and another agency served the warrant Wednesday.

• Jarvis Maurice Hankins, 37, of Blue Ridge Lane, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of a community diversion program violation.

The alleged offense occurred Jan. 30, and another agency served the warrant Wednesday.

• Van Pleasant Jr., 69, of N. Main Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of family member.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and another agency served the warrant Tuesday.

• Talena Patrice Post, 39, of Sirine Street, Virginia Beach faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred June 11, and another agency served the warrant Wednesday.

• Deontae Lashon Ballou, 36, of River Road, South Boston faces charges of possession of firearm and drugs, distribution of a controlled substance and distribution of marijuana, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Officer B. McGuire served the warrant Thursday, and Ballou was held on a $3,500 secured bond.

• Patrick N. Salts, 37, of Herbert Allen Trail, South Boston faces a charge of larceny for shoplifting.

Officer J. George served the warrant Thursday, and no bond was set for Salts.
