A 33-year-old Virgilina man faces a felony probation violation, a misdemeanor contempt of court charge and was issued a misdemeanor capias to show cause, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Zachary Adam Elliott of Bill Tuck Highway was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred April 5, 2018, July 1 and Oct. 9, and deputy J. A. Short served the warrants and the capias Friday.

• Talesha Renae Medley, 22, of Bold Springs Road, South Boston faces a felony probation violation charge.

The alleged offense occurred Oct. 14, 2018, and Short served the warrant Friday.

• Carlisa Chandler, 30, of Cardinal Court, South Boston faces a misdemeanor drug charge of possession of marijuana.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and deputy W. F. Cross served the warrant the same day.

• Marquita R. Ballou, 36, of Bane Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor drug charge of possession of marijuana.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Cross served the warrant the same day.

• Cordaro Gene Sweeney, 31, of River Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and deputy T. M. Moore served the warrant the same day.

• William Anderson King Jr., 29, of Mountain Road, Vernon Hill faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and being drunk in public.

The alleged offenses occurred Sunday, and Cpl. T. C. Spencer served the warrants the same day.

• Jesus Joaquin Morales, 38, of Halifax Road, Java faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, refusing a blood/breathalyzer test, driving while not licensed and driving while drinking alcohol.

The alleged offenses occurred Sunday, and Short served the warrants the same day.

• John Scott Ellis, 70, of Crawford Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor contempt of court charge.

The alleged offense occurred Oct. 7, and deputy C. D. Wilborne served the warrant Monday.

• Cheryl Lynn Conner, 39, of Mountain Road, Halifax faces a felony charge of community based program violation.

The alleged offense occurred Sept. 26, and Wilborne served the warrant Monday.

• Kelli Danielle Vargas, 35, of Bane Street, South Boston faces a charge of petty larceny, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Officer T. Richardson served the warrant Thursday.
