Teacher of the year honored
In a yearly tradition that signals the nearing end to the education year, Halifax County Public Schools held its annual Staff Appreciation Celebration on Thursday evening. The highlight of the night came when Annette Duffer, of Sydnor Jennings Elementary School, was named the 2022-23 HCPS Teacher of the Year. In February, Duffer was named an instructional coach at Sydnor Jennings. The school system also honored teachers of the year for individual schools and presented milestone awards for employees.
