An Alton man, Shannon Angus, was injured and transported to Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital following a single-vehicle wreck Monday morning on U.S. Highway 58 in the Turbeville area near the intersection with State Route 751, according to Virginia State Police.
Angus was in stable condition Monday afternoon, according to a spokesperson for Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.
Virginia State Trooper R.L. Compton said Angus was driving a 2014 Chevrolet truck pulling a generator owned by ADD Equipment on Highway 58 at 6:34 a.m. when he ran off the right side of the road, stayed in the ditch line until he hit a culvert, went across the culvert and hit a mailbox and a guardrail.
A 25-year-old South Boston woman faces a charge of reckless driving and failure to maintain proper control following a single-vehicle wreck that occurred at 6:09 p.m. Saturday, according to a report filed by Virginia State Trooper H.J. Buzzetta.
Lauren H. Milam was driving a 2013 Ford Escape on Route 614 at the intersection with Route 501 when she ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch, Buzzetta’s report states.
Milam was not injured in the wreck.
Buzzetta estimated $3,500 in damages to the Ford.
A 70-year-old Halifax woman was transported to a medical facility with minor injuries following a single-vehicle wreck at 5:09 p.m. Saturday, according to a report filed by Buzzetta.
Mary E. Vickers was driving a 2010 Cadillac SRX on Route 610, 100 feet east of Route 609, when she ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch and a tree, Buzzetta’s report states.
No charges were filed in the wreck.
Buzzetta estimated $9,000 in damages to the Cadillac.
