People's Pantry

Brandon Davis, a volunteer at the People’s Pantry, a food bank in the basement of the South Boston Church of God, stocks shelves earlier this week. He says helping people in need brings a smile to his face.

The food pantries in Halifax County are seeing an increase in the number of people seeking assistance heading into the holiday season.

The two most special meals of the year are served up on Thanksgiving and Christmas, and less fortunate community members are seeking food items to fill their tables.
