An 83-year-old North Chesterfield man, Nathan Blanks, faces a charge of failure to yield the right-of-way in a two-vehicle wreck at 2:43 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of James D. Hagood Highway (Route 360) and Bellevue Road, according to a report filed by Virginia State Police Trooper J.B. Noyes.

No one was injured in the wreck.

A 2002 Honda Accord driven by 48-year-old Teresa Turner of Gastonia, North Carolina was traveling west on James D. Hagood Highway when a 2014 Chevy Impala driven by Blanks crossed the highway headed onto Bellevue Road, Noyes’ report states. The Honda struck the Impala because of the Impala’s failure to yield the right-of-way, as stated in the report.

Noyes estimated $6,000 in damages to the Impala and $4,000 in damages to the Honda.

A 22-year-old Sioux Falls, South Dakota man, Watson Caviness, faces a charge of failure to yield the right-of-way in a two-vehicle wreck Monday at 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Route 96 and Route 49 in the Virgilina area, according to a report filed by Virginia State Trooper J.A. Williamson.

No one was injured in the wreck.

A 2015 Acura SUV driven by 29-year-old Kristine Monette of Nelson was making a left turn off Route 96 onto Route 49, when Caviness, who was at the stop sign in a 2014 GMC pickup truck, pulled ahead and ran into the side of the Acura, Williamson’s report states.

Williamson estimated $500 in damages to the GMC and $3,000 in damages to the Acura.
