Subscription drive

The Gazette-Virginian is kicking off its annual subscription drive today by mailing a free copy of the newspaper to all residents of Halifax County.

While newspaper costs continue to rise, the price for a one-year subscription remain the same as last year. Halifax County residents only pay $25 to receive The Gazette three times a week — that’s about 16 cents per issue.

A print subscription comes with free unlimited access to, including the e-edition. To access, a user will need to create an account and input a code from the print edition label.

In an ever-changing world dominated by a pandemic that shows no signs of slowing down, The Gazette has continued to publish uninterrupted. In addition, critical local coronavirus news is still free to all online users as a public service and commitment to convey vital information to the community.

The Gazette’s lobby remains closed to the public to help slow the spread of the coronavirus. However, there are four easy ways to subscribe or renew a subscription.

Online: The easiest and fastest way to subscribe is at Simple click “subscribe” at the top of the page, then click the graphic for the subscription special. Using a credit or debit card, fill out an easy form and submit your payment.

• Call: Use a debit or credit card by calling 434-572-3945 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

• Mail: Fill out a form on the flyer inside today’s paper and mail with payment to P.O. Box 524, South Boston, VA, 24592.

• Drop off: Place a completed subscription form with payment in our outside dropbox.
