A 30-year-old Halifax man was transported to the hospital with injuries following a single-vehicle wreck that occurred Sunday shortly after midnight on Chatham Road, one mile north of Route 360.

According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper D. N. Clark, Troy Chandler was driving a 2006 Mitsubishi Galant when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a culvert pipe, a mailbox, a road sign and a tree.

Chandler was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Clark estimated damage to the Mitsubishi at $5,000.

A 26-year-old Long Island woman was not injured and not charged following a single-vehicle wreck that occurred Saturday at 11:05 p.m. on Route 603 (Cody Road), a tenth of a mile South of Route 650.

According to an accident report filed by Clark, Marketta Young was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry when she ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

Two individuals were injured, but not transported following a single-vehicle wreck that occurred Friday at 5:10 p.m. on U.S. 360, a tenth of a mile south of Route 650.

According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper K. R. Martin, 23-year-old Aerin Hudson of Scottsburg was traveling too fast in a 2000 Chevrolet SUV when he lost control of the vehicle, ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

Hudson, and his 20-year-old passenger, Kyla Clements, were both injured.

Hudson was charged with driving under the influence.

Martin estimated damage to the Chevrolet at $5,500.

Three individuals were transported to the hospital with injuries following a two-vehicle wreck that occurred Friday at 2:20 p.m. on Highway 58, 150 feet west of Highway 501.

According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper J. A. Williamson, 19-year-old Nijeriek Jones of South Boston was driving a 2017 Nissan Altima when he made an improper lane change and struck a 2019 Peterbuilt tractor trailer driven by 24-year-old Gregory Hackney Jr. of Vernon Hill.

Jones, and his two passengers, 21-year-old Traquan Faulkner and 20-year-old Damian Trent, were all transported to the hospital with injuries.

Jones was charged with making an improper lane change.

Williamson estimated $6,000 in damages to the Nissan and $3,000 in damages to the tractor trailer.
