In-person absentee voting for the Democratic presidential primary begins Thursday.
The primary will be held March 3 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. A photo I.D. is required to vote. Verify voter register, polling place and valid photo I.D. before Election Day.
In-person absentee voting will be available Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. starting Thursday through Feb. 28.
The deadline for in-person absentee voting at the Halifax County Voter Registration and Elections Office will be on Saturday, Feb. 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 10 will be the last day to register to vote or change voter registration for the primary.
Mailed voter registration must be sent to the Halifax County Registration and Election Office by the deadline.
The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail will be Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Applications for absentee voting by mail must be received by the Halifax County Voter Registration and Elections Office by 5 p.m. on Feb. 25.
All absentee ballots must be returned to the Halifax County Voter Registration Office by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 to be counted.
