A Lean Canvas Workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdayat Southern Plenty for entrepreneurs looking to take their business idea to the next level.
Register now to attend the Lean Canvas workshop, presented by Dale Fickett ofRVA Works, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development’s Main Street program and Destination Downtown South Boston, Inc.
This day-long session on the Lean Canvas method offers a system for entrepreneurs or existing business owners to examine a business idea and improve its chances for long-term growth.
In eight hours, participants will refine and test a business idea, provide additional value to new and/or existing customers and position a business or business idea for sustainable growth.
Participants also will gain an invaluable business resource through the workshop — access to other entrepreneurs across the commonwealth.
Through a discussion board platform, participants will be able to communicate with other business owners, mentors and experts in the field allowing them to pose their most important business questions to a knowledgeable group of peers.
The session will be led by Fickett, president and co-founder of RVA Works, a Virginia nonprofit cultivating entrepreneurs and creating credible pathways to business ownership.
A mentor to hundreds of entrepreneurs, Fickett has lectured on entrepreneurship and innovation with several leading universities, including the Wharton School University of Pennsylvania, Trinity College Dublin, Northwestern University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
He holds an MBA from Villanova University and a BSBA from LaSalle University.
