The Southside Wellness Coalition this week announced the winner of its logo contest. Marah Michael, who works full time at VCU Health, CMH as a marketing and graphics assistant, designed the winning logo.
Michael said, “I believe that each day brings a new opportunity and a fresh start. I incorporated this into the logo by using the sun rising behind the state of Virginia, with a flower resembling growth and the ability to flourish. Both are important to the coalition’s message.”
Micahel’s words and logo truly capture the vision of the Southside Wellness Coalition.
As members of Halifax, Mecklenburg and Brunswick counties, the coalition is a community of resources collaborating together to support the health and wellness of the community.
Today, Michael continues to work on her bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration with a minor in marketing while supporting her three children. The oldest is an occupational therapy student at VCU. Her son is a senior at Park View High School, and her youngest daughter is a fifth grader at South Hill Elementary.
Her belief “to never stop learning” is vitally important to children and to the community.
