A medley of music and roaring engines could be heard up and down Main Street in downtown South Boston Saturday, as the third annual Downtown South Boston Cruz-In, presented by Title Sponsor URW Community Federal Credit Union, along with Old Dominion Electric Cooperative and numerous door prize sponsors, ran from 3 to 6 p.m. featuring 250 antique vehicles. Saturday’s crowd observed a variety of classic vintage vehicles, including cars, motorcycles and even a classic powerboat. Tamyra Vest, Destination Downtown South Boston executive director, said she talked to participants from Oxford, Gretna, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Powhatan, Clarksville, Brookneal, Danville and Roxboro. She expressed appreciation for the support of the volunteers from the Old School Car Club and the Tinkers Car Club as well as the many businesses that donated the 102 door prizes for the event. “We were lucky to have gorgeous weather and had a fabulous event,” Vest said. “Friends and families enjoyed walking around looking at the amazing showcase of the best classic cars in the region.”
