Thunder could be heard in the distance, and dark clouds were all around, but that didn’t damper the patriotic spirit of those who showed up for Elmo’s annual Fourth of July Parade on Thursday.
Uncle Sam portrayed by Paul Greenwood was the grand marshal riding next to David Hudson on his motorcycle.
Many fire trucks, floats, antique cars, golf carts and four-wheelers decked out in red, white and blue followed them.
In truly Elmo fashion, one child even cruised through the parade in a miniature race car.
Each year, there’s at least one parade entrant who comes in with a surprise. In the past, there have been power wheels cars, “Single and Looking signs,” and “The Rabbitt” racing hood.
Laughs were shared, candy was collected and much fun was had by all.
