Project updates highlight a short agenda for the monthly meeting of the Halifax County Service Authority on Thursday.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. in the board conference room in the HCSA administrative-operations building located at 2529 Houghton Avenue in South Boston.
A public comment period is scheduled ahead of the agenda, which includes four new business items, including a review of minutes from the July 18 meeting and a review of the July 2019 financial reports by finance director Arnetta Roberts.
The executive director for Dewberry Engineers is scheduled to present a report on the USDA-Maple Avenue biosolids study, and Mark Estes, HCSA executive director, is scheduled to present an update on the Sutphin Road project, including the closing of an interim loan through Benchmark Bank associated with the project.
Estes also is scheduled to update board members on a customer request to detail water usage and billing, and he also is scheduled to update board members on the Cowford Road plant conversion and force main project.
Board members are scheduled to go into closed session at the end of Thursday’s meeting to discuss personnel, acquisition of property, investment of public funds or consult with legal counsel.
