Six people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred at 6:17 p.m. Monday on Halifax Road, 300 feet south of Maid Marion Lane in South Boston.
According to an accident report filed by Sgt. J. B. Throckmorton, 40-year-old Christa Carden of Alton was traveling north on Halifax Road in a Hyundai Tucson SUV when she came across the median and crashed head-on into a Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 27-year-old Dawn Fountain of South Boston. The Chevrolet was traveling south on Halifax Road at the time of the crash.
In addition to both drivers suffering minor injuries, Fountain had a 28-year-old female passenger, an 11-year-old male passenger and a 4-year-old female passenger, all of whom also suffered minor injuries.
Carden’s 35-year-old male passenger also suffered minor injuries.
Carden was charged with failure to maintain control.
Throckmorton estimated damage to the Chevrolet at $4,000 and damage to the Hyundai at $10,000.
