A 30-year-old South Boston man faces a charge of following too closely resulting a two-vehicle wreck that occurred Monday at 8:02 p.m. on Cluster Springs Road, three-tenths of a mile west of Huell Matthews Highway.

According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper L. V. Pambid, 67-year-old Alan Rice of South Boston was attempting to turn into a private driveway in a 2005 GMC Sierra when it was struck in the rear by a 2000 Dodge Dakota driven by Jeremy Wallace.

Neither driver was injured.

Pambid estimated $1,500 in damages to each vehicle.

A 26-year-old Richmond man faces a charge of following too closely stemming from a two-vehicle wreck that occurred June 11 at 11:05 a.m. on U.S. 360, 10 miles west of Clover Road.

According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper T. B. Jones, 20-year-old Dakota Loftis of Scottsburg was accelerating to the travel speed in a 2015 Kia Sedan when a 2016 Dodge Charger driven by Justin Jackson struck it in the rear.

Neither driver was injured.

Jones estimated $8,000 in damages to the Dodge and $5,000 in damages to the Kia.
