A 19-year-old South Boston woman was transported to the hospital with minor injuries following a single-vehicle wreck that occurred at 4:15 p.m. Saturday on Virgie Cole Road, two miles south of Bill Tuck Highway.

According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper D. W. Lacks, Jazmyne N. Dailey was driving a 2001 Nissan Sentra when she ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

Dailey, who was wearing her seatbelt, suffered minor injuries.

She also was charged with reckless driving/failure to maintain proper control.

Lacks estimated damage to the Nissan at $1,500.

A 22-year-old Halifax man faces a charge of reckless driving following a single-vehicle wreck that occurred at 1:45 p.m. Sunday on Highway 58, one mile east of State Route 696.

According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper H. J. Buzzetta, Justin A. Bowers was driving a 1989 GMC S15 when he ran off the right side of road, struck an embankment, and the truck rolled onto its side. He then struck several trees before coming to rest upright in a ditch.

Bowers, who was wearing his seatbelt, was not injured.

Buzzetta estimated damage to the GMC at $4,500.
