A 17-year-old juvenile from South Boston faces a charge of improper passing following a two-vehicle wreck that occurred Friday at 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of Route 716 and Route 619 in Halifax.

According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper H. J. Buzzetta, the juvenile was traveling in a 2020 Honda Civic when he crossed into the lane of travel and struck a 2008 Ford Ranger driven by 62-year-old Jerry Woltz of Buffalo Junction.

Neither driver was injured.

Buzzetta estimated $2,000 in damages to the Honda and $1,000 in damages to the Ford.

Two individuals were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries sustained in a single-vehicle wreck that occurred Friday at 7:50 a.m. at 4157 River Road in Halifax.

According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper L. V. Pambid, Candace Dishmond of Halifax encountered a slow moving tractor-trailer while driving her 2019 Chevrolet Cruz and swerved to the right to avoid hitting it. The Chevrolet then ran off the right side of the road and struck several trees.

Dishmond and her six-year-old passenger were injured and transported to a nearby hospital.

Pambid estimated $6,000 in damages to the Chevrolet.
