Two individuals were transported to the hospital with minor injuries following a two-vehicle wreck that occurred Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Route 360 and Route 677.
According to an accident report filed by Virginia State Trooper D. N. Clark, 72-year-old Virginia H. Ingram of Vernon Hill was driving a 2018 Ford SUV when she ran into the back of a 1971 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by James T. Ferrell of Vernon Hill.
Both drivers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Ingram was charged with following too close.
Clark estimated damage to the Ford at $6,000 and damage to the Chevrolet at $2,000.
A 22-year-old Ringgold man faces a charge of failure to maintain proper lane following a single-vehicle wreck that occurred Monday at 6:30 a.m. on Highway 28 a mile west of Route 751.
According to an accident report filed by Clark, Rickie K. Shelton Jr. was driving a 2001 Honda Accord when he ran off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail.
Shelton was not injured
Shelton estimated damage to the Honda at $2,500 and damage to the guardrail belonging to VDOT at $1,000.
