Daughters of the American Revolution representative Cynthia Hall receives the Constitution Week resolution from Halifax Mayor Dexter Gilliam at Tuesday evening’s council meeting.

Halifax Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to table a set of three amendments to the town’s comprehensive plan recommended by the planning commission, the most controversial of which would promote solar panels and solar farms throughout the town.

The amendment in question denotes an objective, which reads: “Encourage distributed solar, micro-grid tied systems, battery storage, and carefully sited medium-sized solar (5MW) facilities as a means of achieving renewable energy goals.”
