A light agenda awaits Halifax Town Council when they meet Tuesday evening at Halifax Town Hall.

Town council is set to meet for their 6:30 p.m. work session followed by their monthly meeting.

A resolution proclaiming Halifax County Community Clean-Up Day on April 17 and a 2021 Earth Day proclamation are up for council’s consideration.

Last year, members of the Halifax County Improvement Council, Halifax County Chamber of Commerce and Strategic Plan Quality of Place Work Group invited the public to participate in their Community Clean Up day on a Saturday, April 18 in their neighborhoods.

Earth Day is on April 22, and local farmer’s markets typically host events to celebrate the occasion.

The Halifax Market Place is preparing for an Earth Day Extravaganza on April 24.

Council also is slated to hear the monthly police report from Halifax Police Chief Stuart Comer.

A public comment period also is set for Tuesday evening.

Prior to their monthly meeting, council is expected to hear from the chairs of the business development committee, finance committee and current affairs committee.
