The town of Halifax held its annual Christmas open house from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, with a sunny and warm day drawing shoppers to check out holiday bargains, Christmas-themed décor and a pop-up vendor fair throughout storefronts in downtown Halifax. Shoppers at The Peddler’s Market had a chance to register for the eighth annual $500 holiday giveaway, the world’s largest stocking and $10, $25 and $50 gift certificates. Shoppers also enjoyed horse-drawn wagon rides, a chance at singing carols with Keep the Beat with Director Barbara Carnevale, and the music of Ernest Galindo, who performed Christmas music at The Peddler’s Market Exchange Store. Shoppers also had the opportunity to win a $200 shopping spree at participating merchants. Halifax also hosted Shop Small Saturday and the annual Children’s Christmas Parade following open house on Sunday.
