Those attending the 34th annual Downtown South Boston Christmas Open House held Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. will have the chance to meet Gladys the Cow at Auburnlea on Main Market and Eatery, located at 521 North Main Street. She will be available for photo opportunities, petting and at some point a bottle-feeding.

Come start the holiday season with South Boston merchants opening their doors for holiday shopping during the 34th annual Downtown South Boston Christmas Open House held Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

Shoppers will hear Christmas Music as they stroll through downtown.

Santa will be visiting with children in a safe and sanitized manner through plexiglass at The Busy Bean, 530 Wilborn Ave., South Boston from 1 to 4 p.m.

In order to enter, everyone must be masked and practice social distancing. Once children are seated to speak with Santa, they may remove their mask.

The chair in front of Santa will be sanitized after each visit.

There will not be a professional photographer on site, but guests are welcome to bring their phone or camera to capture this moment.

Come see Gladys the Cow at Auburnlea on Main Market and Eatery, located at 521 North Main Street beside Mother Cluckers.

Gladys will be available for photo opportunities, petting and at some point a bottle-feeding. Gladys has her very own Instagram page; give her a follow at gladysthecow9.

Across the street from Gladys, come see the work-in-progress of the painting of the street piano in the window at Raab Properties, and listen to the tickling of the ivories.

Also, be sure to register to win $100 Downtown Gift Certificate.
