“It was a good day, and a lot of fun. It was nice to see new faces,” said Kimberly Rich, president of the South Boston Farmer’s Market board, of the market’s Harvest Festival on Saturday. Children from all over stopped by with their families to paint a total of 62 pumpkins, and they also had a chance to learn more about how pumpkins are harvested with the market’s Power of Produce program. Saturday was the last day of the program for the growing season, and 24 children participated, said Rich. “Thank for you to the community for being so supportive and for continuing to come out and support our vendors,” Rich concluded.
