An update on the Imperial Lofts project, consideration of a proposed hazard mitigation grant application for a Riverdale acquisition project and the police department annual report are among several items on the agenda for South Boston Town Council’s monthly work session on Monday.
The work session is scheduled to get underway at 5:45 p.m. at council chambers on Yancey Street, with the update on the Imperial Lofts project first on the agenda, offered by Edwin Gaskin, developer and owner of Echelon Resources.
Council will then consider a proposed hazard mitigation grant application for the Riverdale acquisition project.
Also on the current issues committee agenda are appointments to the Industrial Development Authority, Transportation Safety Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals and the South Boston-Halifax County Regional Library Board, and council will hear the South Boston Police Department annual report
The finance committee has two issues on its agenda, including the presentation of the monthly financial report and further discussion of the proposed 2019-2020 budget, with a public hearing on the proposed budget scheduled for the Monday, May 13, council meeting.
Council is expected to go into closed session at the end of Monday’s meeting to discuss expansion of an existing business interested in expanding its facilities, as allowed by the Code of Virginia.
