Alma Lorine Cox Farmer of South Boston went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the age of 77.

Born on Oct. 14, 1945, in Caswell County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Herman Cox and Elva Lora Cockram Cox and was married to the late Robert “Frog” Edward Farmer.

Lorine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved her family, her church and her garden. She was a member at Arbor Baptist Church.

Cherishing many fond memories are her daughters, Wanda Cartwright (David) of Danville and Leslie Francisco (Danny) of Sutherlin; son, Vincent “Scott” Farmer (Barbara) of Halifax; grandchildren, Jessica Cartwright Beach, Megan Nicole Cartwright, Andrew David Cartwright, Daniel Hugh Cartwright, Wendy Holt, Heather Nelson, Michael Farmer, Emily Elder, Samantha Hatcher, Rodney Francisco and Ryan Francisco; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Lorine is also survived by siblings, Elva Cox, Janell Spach and Velda Stevens; numerous nieces and nephews and “extra” grandchildren, Eddie Chaney and Lauren Chaney.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by grandson, Brian Farmer and siblings, Harriett Coleene Cox Boyd, Albert Herman Cox and Alonzo McCoy Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Arbor Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence on Monday and Tuesday.
