Annie B. Wallace of Halifax County passed away peacefully on June 25, 2020 at Berry Hill Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in South Boston at the age of 80 years old.
She was born March 21, 1940. She was the daughter of late Richard T. Barksdale and Irene Tanksley Barksdale. She was married to the late Prince A. Wallace Sr. for 60 years.
Mrs. Wallace was of the Baptist faith. She worked at Tultex Corporation and Daystrom Furniture Manufacturing in her early years. Mrs. Wallace was a retired employee with Burlington Industries in Halifax. She will be remembered by many for her love of softball and bowling. She loved music and dancing with her husband. She loved spending time in the garden and canning vegetables.
Annie is survived by her children, Prince Wallace Jr., and wife Janice of Halifax, Felicia Wallace of Roxboro, North Carolina, Amy Campbell and husband Buddy of Cluster Springs and Gary Wallace and wife Crystal of Boykins; her grandchildren, Brandy Wallace, Jason Wallace and Sarah Martin (husband Cody), Trey Woody and Ariel Woody Palmer (husband Kevon), Cathy Campbell, Cedric Arrington and Ashlee Wallace; her step-grandchildren, Chase Campbell, Chad Campbell, Casey Campbell and Kimberly Williams.
Her brothers, Lacy Barksdale, Hula Barksdale and Clifton Barksdale, and her sisters, Nadine Ford, Helen Robertson and Lelia Weatherford, also preceded Mrs. Wallace in death.
A memorial service will be held at Powell Funeral Home Sunday, June 28, 2020, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Thomas officiating.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home of Buddy and Amy Campbell at 1045 Leigh McKay Trail, South Boston.
