Annie Mae Campbell of Halifax passed away May 29, 2020. She was born in Halifax County on June 28, 1938 and was 81 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Murray Lee Moore and the late Sallie Josie Matthews Moore. She was married to the late Ernest Lee Campbell.

She was a member of Fork Baptist Church and was retired from J.P. Stevens.

Annie Mae Campbell is survived by her children, Faye Rudd and husband Michael of Roxboro, North Carolina, Thomas Hammock and wife Donna of South Boston and Jennifer Hammock of South Boston; step-children, Buddy Campbell and wife Amy, Billy Campbell and Tammy Rice; her grandchildren, Mandy Stauble (Brian), Shannon Arrington (Shawn), Thomas Hammock Jr. (Brandy), Gabrielle King (Justin) and Devan Wooding; step-grandchildren, Blake Gilbert (Jessica), Destiny Gilbert and Danielle Gilbert; great grandchildren, Eli Hammock, Kennedy Boyd, Karter King, Lillie Hammock, Kody Stauble, Kyle Stauble and Brad Arrington; her sisters, Virginia Moore Vaughan, Patti Sue Moore Stafford, Josephine Moore Scearce and Pauline Moore Litchfield; and her faithful pet, Sam

She was preceded in death by her brother, Willie Moore.

A graveside service was held Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Warfield officiating. In keeping with CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19, the funeral service was livestreamed via Powell Funeral Home’s Facebook page.

The family received friends at her home, 1055 Murphy Grove Rd., Halifax.
