Annie Signora Crawford Jones, formerly of Crawford Road, Halifax, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 8, 2020. Born March 9, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George Dewey Crawford and Annie Laura Pounds Crawford, and was the widow of Alvin L. Jones.

She considered her years in funeral service as the greatest honor of her life where families entrusted her with their loved ones, which enabled her to meet many people who became family and friends.

Survivors include her kind and exceptional son, David Valentine, (Deborah); a loyal daughter and confidante, Sharon C. Graves; grandsons Josh and Devin, the Valentine Family; her siblings, a loving and doting sister, Jackie Smith; two brothers who gingerly loved her, Sam Walton and Jimmy Walton; three aunts, Gwen Horne, Dorothy Evans, and Jean Estwick.

Annie is also survived by an adoring and faithful goddaughter, Deborah Clark Powell; her special and close cousins Emily Griffith, Vivian Clark, and Amelia Hamilton.

Other godchildren who she dutifully supported in their rearing are Cece Jones Davis and Lele Jones Sneed, Princetta Williams, Tashi Screen, and Etang Pugh; her “bestie” and her “Guardian Angel,”Katie Williams; also, her cherished and devout relative, Brenda Clark Richardson, who was diligent and faithful in her well-being; her mentee, Karen Graves Medley; her “special” angel, Don Graves; and many other relatives and friends.

At her request, there will be no funeral service. Those wishing to give memorials are asked to consider her beloved Banister Hill Baptist Church, Halifax.

“Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.”
