Arlean Lipford Stone departed this life on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at her home in New Carrollton, Maryland.
Arlean was born in Halifax on Sept. 8, 1931 to the late Samuel Raymond Lipford and Gracie Virginia Coles Lipford. She was the third oldest of 10 children.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lewis, Joseph, Charlie and Johnny Lipford.
Arlean was married to the late Riley Clifton Stone Jr.
To this union, four children were born. Two sons preceded her in death, Leslie Carlyle and Samuel Clifton.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, her two daughters, Sharon Stone, of New Carrollton and Janice McLaughlin (devoted son-in-law, Charles) of Bowie, Maryland; two dutiful granddaughters, Chelsey McLaughlin and Kennedy Jones; two grandsons, Travis Stone (Nacole) of Asheville, North Carolina and Charles McLaughlin Jr. of Silver Spring, Maryland; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Lipford, of Brooklyn, New York and Virginia Dixon (Henry) of Columbus, Georgia; three brothers, Willie Lipford of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Raleigh Lipford (Yvonne) of Washington, DC, and Ernest Lipford (Phyllis) of Nathalie; sister-in-law Clementris Lipford of Baltimore, and forever sisters-in-law Janie Luck, Regina Wood, Mattie Stone-Lanier, and Almira Lee; forever brother-in-law the Rev. Willard Stone; and a host of nieces, nephews, other beloved relatives and friends, including long-time friend Lillie Polk.
The family will receive family and friends on July 12, 2019 at Dunn and Sons Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on July 13, 2019 at County Line Baptist Church, 10151 Chatham Rd., Vernon Hill, VA 24597 with viewing at 12 p.m. and service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Otis Dillard as pastor.
